About HKRA

The Hong Kong Radiographers' Association is an association of all registered radiographers (diagnostic and therapeutic) in Hong Kong. It was formed by the merging of two associations of radiographers in 1990. One of the two associations was the Association of Government Radiographers which was founded in 1974 and the other was the Hong Kong Diagnostic Radiographers Association, founded in 1980s from a group of graduates of the then Hong Kong Polytechnic.

The Association aims to promote the professional status of all radiographers locally and internationally, to promote the welfare of its members and to ensure ethical conduct in professional practice. The Association has a membership of around 400 radiographers.

On regular basis, the Association published its own journal, the Hong Kong Radiographers Journal, and holds an annual Scientific Meeting and Continuing Education programme.

Starting 1998, the Association has joined the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists and is currently a member of the International Society.
